The Written Expression module consists of two main chapters.
The first chapter is devoted to the argumentative essay, where students learn what an argumentative essay is and how it is structured. Particular attention is given to writing effective introductory and concluding paragraphs, with a focus on using the funnel structure.
The second chapter covers both the classification essay and the compare-and-contrast essay.
In the classification essay, students learn how to break a subject down into smaller categories
in order to analyze it more effectively. As for the compare-and-contrast essay, students are
introduced to the two main organizational patterns: the block method and the point-by-point
method, which help them develop well-structured essays.
