This course, designed for third-year applied microbiology students, provides essential skills for scientific research, writing, and presentation using digital tools. It covers the effective use of Word for structured scientific writing, Excel for organizing and analyzing experimental data, PowerPoint for creating professional presentations, and Adobe Acrobat for document editing and formatting.
Students will also learn bibliographic research techniques, including how to identify and evaluate reliable sources, collect relevant scientific information, and apply proper citation methods. The course further explores scientific writing methodologies, guiding students through the structure of research papers, including IMRaD format (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion), referencing, and academic formatting.
By the end of this course, students will be able to write, format, and present scientific reports effectively, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and professionalism in microbiology research. This course is essential for those preparing for academic writing, laboratory reporting, and future research projects in the field of microbiology.
