Objective – M2 Material Sciences

1. General Aim

The course Scientific English – M2 Material Sciences aims to develop the students’ linguistic and communicative competence in English within the scientific and technical context of materials physics. It focuses on enabling learners to describe, analyze, and report scientific phenomena and results using appropriate terminology and grammatical structures.

2. Specific Objectives

By the end of the course, students will be able to:
1. Understand and use specialized vocabulary related to the physical and chemical properties of materials (thermal, electrical, mechanical, optical, etc.).
2. Read and comprehend authentic scientific texts and research articles in the field of materials science.
3. Develop awareness of scientific style, cohesion, and coherence in academic writing.
4. Prepare for dissertation writing by practicing the linguistic and stylistic aspects required for scientific reports.
